Basically, she's noticing a lot. She's picking up on me being quiet a lot more,
and my mood swings, and the other day my sleeve accidentally pulled back when I
was lay down and she saw the big plaster on my arm and a couple of little marks
under it and asked me out straight if I was cutting. I didn't know what to say,
she looked scared, so I just made up a lie and said no. I know that she's going
to freak when she finds out, but I hate the fact that I'm lying to her. Plus she
doesn't understand why i'm always moody. I want to be able to confide in her
about it, but I'm so scared of how she's going to react. How do I tell her
without upsetting her?

If she noticed and asked you in the first place, she obviously has some kind of
concern. If you feel like you can really trust her, tell her. She shouldn't
react negatively, if she's really your friend she'll try to help you and understand. Sometimes its good to let someone know. Telling a counselor or a trusted adult is probably best though. There is better and healthier alternatives than self harming. What are some of your interests? Music? Try singing or playing drums. Sports? Try volleyball or soccer. Are you quiet? Try writing stories or songs.
