Jersey Devil
There are many legends of how the Jersey Devil came to be. One version says, a woman who went by the last name of “Leeds” (which is why it’s also known as the “Leeds Devil”), referred to as a “whore” in most accounts, uttered something like, “Let him be the devil!” while giving birth to her 13th child. Legend has it that hell heard her and she gave birth to a creature with the head of a collie dog, the face of a horse, a long neck, two foot tall wings, back legs like a crane, and a horse’s hooves. It stood about three and a half feet high, and upon being born, it screeched a hateful screech and flew away to forever haunt the New Jersey (USA) Pine Barrens.
One of the most popular legends says a Mrs. Shrouds of Leeds Point, New Jersey made a wish that if she ever had another child, she wanted it to be a devil. Her next child was born misshapen and deformed. She sheltered it in the house, so people wouldn’t see him. On a stormy night, the child flapped its arms, which turned into wings, and escaped out the chimney and was never seen by the family again. A Mrs. Bowen of Leeds point said, "The Jersey Devil was born in the Shrouds house at Leeds Point."
Another story that also placed the birth at Leeds Point said that a young girl fell in love with a British soldier during the Revolutionary War. The people of Leeds Point cursed her and when she gave birth, she had a devil.
Some people believe the birth of the devil was punishment for the mistreatment of a minister by the Leeds folk. Another story placed the birth in Estelville, New Jersey. When Mrs. Leeds, of Estelville, found out she was pregnant with her 13th child, she shouted, "I hope it's a devil!" and she got her wish. The child was born with horns, a tail, wings, and a horse-like head. The creature revisited Mrs. Leeds every day. She stood at her door and told it to leave. After awhile, the creature got the hint and never returned. Burlington, New Jersey, also claims to be the birthplace of the Jersey Devil. In 1735, Mother Leeds was in labor on a stormy night. Gathered around her were her friends. Mother Leeds was supposedly a witch and the child's father was the devil himself. The child was born normal, but then changed form. It changed from a normal baby to a creature with hooves, a horse’s head, bat wings and a forked tail. It beat everyone present and flew up the chimney. It circled the villages and headed toward the pines. In 1740 a clergy exercised the devil for 100 years and it wasn't seen again until 1890.
There are many other versions of the legend. Some legends say it was the 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th, or 13th child, It was born normal or deformed, and the mother confined it to the cellar or the attic. Although there are many discrepancies in all of these stories, there are 3 pieces of evidence that tie all of the legends of the Jersey Devil's origin together.
Anyhow, over the years there’s been numerous sightings of this cute little guy, mostly doing things that resemble the actions of an autistic flamingo (eating people’s trash, attacking small animals, flying into power lines etc.) It walked on its back legs and held up two short front legs with paws on them. It didn't use the front legs at all. The Jersey Devil, the supposed mythical creature of the New Jersey Pinelands, has haunted New Jersey and the surrounding areas for the past 260 years. This entity has been seen by over 2,000 witnesses over this period. It has terrorized towns and caused factories and schools to close down, yet many people believe that the Jersey Devil is a legend, a mythical beast, that originated from the folklore of the New Jersey Pine Barrens. Others disagree with this point of view.

Slender Man
No one really knows where Slender Man originally came from. He has been dated all the way back to the Egyptian times though. He is typically depicted as being an abnormally tall, victims saying he’s anywhere from 7 feet tall to 9 feet tall. He’s very skinny (hence the name), with a faceless head, which is usually what freaks out people the most for some reason. He is usually seen wearing a plain black suit and tie, like the Men in Black, but it is thought to be an actual part of his body. He is often shown to have arms that reach somewhere in between his knees and ankles, giving him the ability to stretch and contort his limbs into a variety of shapes, as well as produce a number of tentacle-like appendages, which are shown as having the ability to ensnare his victims. Slender Man is typically depicted as an observant and lurking being, stalking his victims for long periods of time, slowly driving them insane with paranoia and other sicknesses. He seems to always be sighted in fog enshrouded streets and wooded areas as a way to conceal himself from being noticed. Another way of killing his victims is by making it appear that they just disappeared never being seen again. Other adaptations point to a more violent Slender Man, killing his victims by eating them whole and leaving nothing but their clothes. Originally his victims were children, but many stories show his victims as adults or college students. One theory is that any adolescent or adult he stalks currently were also stalked by him when they were children. Children are mostly able to see him when no other adults in the vicinity could. Children also have dreams or nightmares involving Slender Man before their disappearance. Besides the ability to physically grow extra limbs, the Slender Man has a number of psychologically-based powers, typically including the ability to cause people to have amnesia, insomnia, insanity, diarrhea, vomit, coughing up blood, make them feel as if someone is watching them until they go crazy, various degrees of audio-visual distortion in electronic devices, and drawing a symbol of a circle with an “X” through it. In extreme cases, he has also been depicted with the ability to warp time and space and teleport. In some stories, he can cause fires. Other stories imply that his weakness is an axe due to his supposed dryad origins.
Mokele-Mbembe
Mokele-mbembe is usually sighted in Africa countries:
the Congo Republic, Cameroon, and Gabon. Mokele-mbembe means "one that stops the flow of rivers". Mokele-mbembe is described as an animal with a long neck, rounded shape tracks with three claws, and tail which are the same characteristics of a sauropod dinosaur. The length of the animal has been reported to be between 16 to 32 ft, the neck is between 5 to 10 ft, and the tail is between 5 to 10 ft. There have been reports of a frill on the back of the head, like a male chicken or of it having a horn on its head. The color of the skin is a color range from gray to reddish-brown to brown. The basic belief is that Mokele-mbembe does not make any sounds, though there have been come conflicting reports. Mokele-mbembe lives in the pools and swamps adjacent to the rivers of the Likouala swamp region. Its uses the lakes as a crossing path to go from one river to another river. The pygmies of the Likouala swamp region report that the essential diet of Mokele-mbembe consists of the Malombo plant. It lives underwater most of the time except when it eats or travels to another part of the swamp. It has as been reported that Mokele-mbembe does not like hippopotamuses and will kill them on sight, but it does not eat them, they cannot be found where Mokele-mbembe lives. It has also been reported that Mokele-mbembe will overturn boats and kill the people from the boats by biting them and hitting them with its tail, but it does not eat the people.

Mothman
Mothman is sighted in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. The hundreds of recorded sightings were in the 1960's, after that it was never seen again. People say that the creature would speak to them saying there was to be a huge accident and many will die. Then on December 15, 1967 the Silver Bridge that connected Ohio and West Virginia collapsed out of no where and 46 people died. The picture shown was taken before the collapse of the bridge, they think Mothman is to blame. One of the first infamous sightings was 2 married couples were driving and they saw a big pair of glowing red eyes and they abruptly stopped. They saw a big figure with gray skin about 6 to 7 ft tall and black wings about 9 to 10 ft. They then drove away at about 100 mph but the creature kept up with them, staying ahead of their vehicle. Mothman is thought to be caused by an Idian curse about 200 years before Mothman started being sighted. A Shawnee chief Indian was wrongly accused of killing a settler. He was then killed by the other settlers, when he was dying he said, "For this, may the curse of the Great Spirit rest upon this land."
Ogopogo
Ogopogo lives in Lake Okanagan in Canada. The lake is 84 miles long, between 3 miles wide, and 1,200 feet deep, but the lake can possibly go deeper. He is believed to live in a cave under Squally Point near Rattlesnake Island which is offshore from Peachland. The oldest recorded
sighting is around the early 1800's. It is described to be around 50 to 80 long, be a dark greenish color, and have a head the shape of a bearded goat or horse. An indian legend says that the large lake creature, Ogopogo, was originally a demon possessed man who had murdered a local man named "Old Kan-He-Kan." Because of him the lake was name "Okanagan". To pay for his cruel mistake, the Indian gods changed the murderer into a lake serpent so he would be at the scene of his crime forever. The Indians called him "N'ha-A-Itk" which roughly translates into "Water Demon".
